Fox on the Town met at the old Palo Alto céilís while playing in the house céilí band Cooking with Turf. After playing together at local seisiún and late night parties, it struck us that we loved playing music together, and so, Fox on the Town was formed. We bring a variety of musical experiences and talents to the band, and offer a unique blend of traditional Irish and American music, with a hint of Classical music popping up now and then.

Angeline LeLeux
Angeline LeLeux
Angeline LeLeux knows how to play classical music - she has a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from Millikin University , and a Masters degree in Music from Notre Dame de Namur University - and yet she also loves folk music. The two styles do mix, and Angeline brings both to her playing with excellent results. Angeline immerses herself in both types of music; she has played fiddle in several Irish bands, including the Palo Alto Céilí Band, Cooking with Turf. She hosts Irish music seisiúns once a month at her home and regularly performs with Irish harper Barbary Grant. Angeline also teaches private lessons in piano, beginning Irish fiddle, and Alexander Technique.

Art Friedman
Art Friedman
Art Friedman stumbled across an Irish seisiún at the Munk's Park Saloon twenty five years ago and still hasn't recovered. Since then, Irish music has taken over increasingly huge chunks of his brain, ears and fingers. It has coupled with his expertise in American old-time music, and Art plays a unique and exciting form of Irish music. Art has taught and performed traditional music, both old time and Irish, for more than 25 years. His old-time band Harmon's Peak is in great demand at local venues and has performed numerous times on KKUP, playing both old-time and Irish music, and he leads a popular seisiún at O'Flaherty's in San Jose.

Margaret Sloan
Margaret Sloan
Margaret Sloan first became aware of Irish music when she heard Joannie Madden playing flute in the Irish-American band, Cherish the Ladies. Margaret originally played silver flute, but once she played an Irish flute, she never looked back. She loves the percussive quality of the simple system flute. It can growl and thump, but can also soar sweetly. Margaret studied flute with the San Francisco flute player Jack Guilder, then traveled to Ireland where she studied flute and singing for 6 months. She plays in Cooking with Turf and other céilí bands throughout the South Bay, and is likely to be found at various local seisiúns.
